The goal of these sessions is to: 1) turn everyone into "Citizens of Data Science" so that everyone feels comfortable and confident in understanding where and how they can use data and analytics to advance their careers, and 2) help organizations become more effective at leveraging data and analytics to power their business models.
Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Science complement, not replace, each other. A holistic, inclusive analytics strategy must include both because the output of one tends to find the input of the other (monitoring to predicting to prescribing to monitoring to...)
The BDBMI provides a benchmark for the critical question of “How effective is your organization at leveraging data and analytics to power your business models?” That is, what does “good” look like, and what’s of possibilities with respect to data and analytic best-in-industry practices?
